Washing Machine Doubles as Cozy Seat

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

I’d like to take a moment to be grateful for modern day inventions like the washing machine. In the old days, Laundry Day was a grueling chore of hand and washboard scrubbing. Now we just sit on our butts and let the machines do most of the work.

I guess it’s just a natural evolutionary progress that someone made a washing machine that we can actually sit on. This concept device of washing machine/cozy chair is designed by Harsha Vardhan. Since no water is required to run this device, you don’t have to devote a “laundry room” to this washing machine seat.

You heard me right the first time, no water is required, and the same goes for detergent. The inner chamber works like a pressure washer and uses ionized air, which also means that you won’t have to have a matching seat for a dryer.

The whole thing can open up, and the clothes get thrown in. The controls are some kind of slide-out mechanism. I can only assume that the interface is some sort of digital job, and that the user won’t have to fiddle with any dials or big buttons.

This device is a must for any bachelor. Just pick up all the dirty clothes off the floor, put them in the seat, and relax as you wash.

Electric Blue Palm Centro heading to AT&T this Friday

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

It looks like AT&T will soon be offering another flavor of the hot selling Palm Centro smartphone. The electric blue Palm Centro will be available beginning Friday and in addition to the new color, it will also get a drop in price. Palm however is keeping a tight wrap on just what the lowered price will be, with a simple statement that it will be “more affordable than ever.”

Our guess is that (thanks to mail-in-rebates) it will go down as low as $49.99. The new electric blue color will join the existing glacier white and obsidian black that have previously been available. I am sure that not everyone is interested in, or wants an iphone 3G, however July 11 sounds like a strange day to release a new color variety of the Centro.

Dress For Dinner Napkins: Go ahead, wear an undershirt

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

I’m the type of guy who wears a suit and tie for a phone interview. I, for one, love getting dressed up. There’s something about a nice shirt and tie that just boosts my confidence up a notch. I just feel better in a suit. But there is surely (stop calling me Shirly) a huge chunk of you who despise the thought of donning a suit and designer slacks.

Maybe you just prefer more typically comfortable attire. A plain white undershirt and boxers are something you wouldn’t mind wearing to a dinner party. Lucky for you, you might just be able to get away with it now. These Dress for Dinner Napkins take the embarrassment of not being able to properly knot a tie and take the easy way out. A tie emblazoned napkin.

So here’s the deal. You get to show off the fact that you’re not a total bum by wearing a napkin in your shirt like a true gentleman, but you also don’t have to get all formalized for your formal dinner. The napkins have a fake tie drawn right onto the product, creating the illusion of a gentleman.

Fancy restaurants don’t have to be a match for your lack of fashion. Each package of 20 napkins cost you $5.95. So unless you’re eating ribs or BBQ, you’ll be all set for your next 20 semi-formal luncheons. No guarantee on whether or not these napkins will actually pass you off as someone who cares.

Flush Light ensures you no longer miss

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Peeing in the dark is a hit-and-miss affair, and the case is especially true for the male species. Wives and girlfriends might beg to differ, claiming that it doesn’t matter whether there is light or not, their men tend to spray all over the place. With the Flush Light, you can help reduce that risk at night.

The Flush Light is a hybrid, electronic-plumbing product. It’s an on-demand night-light at the touch of a button and a toilet flusher at all times. The Flush Light is convenient, and it’s energy efficient. Battery life has been maximized by relying on a very simple circuit, free of any high-tech sensors, because sensors just use up battery power. Average on-time with a fresh battery is about three to four minutes. It works exactly like a regular flush handle.

Apparently the Flush Light consumes very little energy, and battery life greatly depends on usage. A new one is able to surpass the one-year mark and you can use virtually any store brand batteries with no worries. You can pick up the Flush Light for $23.95 a pop, or save more by getting a couple for just $39.95.

Neptune Reclining Bath Lift

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

The Neptune Reclining Bath Lift will bring a smile to your face whenever you come home from the office, all frazzled out with the day’s work.

This portable bath lift lowers you securely into the tub, allowing you to remain upright with its firm back support or recline gently and gradually into a comfortable, relaxing, laid-back (in both senses of the word) position. It also provides more legroom than other reclining bath lifts, even for shorter tubs or with taller users. This lift is fully adaptable to individual bathing needs. It provides more legroom than other reclining bath lifts, even in shorter tubs or for taller users. It’s uniquely designed, with an open-base frame that won’t trap dirty water. It allows easy access to all parts for cleaning. The sucker-release handle eliminates any struggling to detach those ordinarily very determined suction feet from the bottom of your tub. The suction pads are also adjustable up and back to allow for a better fit in most tubs.

Well, what better way to reward yourself after a day of backbreaking work at the office? You will need to make sure there is at least $1,049 in your bank account before you bring this puppy home though.

iZap Travel Toothbrush Sanitizer

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Most of us do not give a second thought to our toothbrushes when we travel, but have you ever wondered just how many germs crawl all over it? With the iZap Travel Toothbrush Sanitizer, all that is a thing of the past.

The iZap is a travel toothbrush sanitizer, the tinted (or clear) case works with most electrical toothbrush heads, as well as the standard ones. The case is lightweight and not all that much larger than a traditional travel toothbrush case…but the iZap contains a Germicidal UV bulb that is proven to eliminate up to 99.9% of germs. The bulb turns on as soon as the lid to the case is closed, sanitizes your toothbrush for about 6 minutes and then automatically shuts off.

Hopefully the 0.1% of germs left on the toothbrush don’t do me in with some sort of weird, yet-unidentified disease, leaving my cadaver to be a case study for doctors worldwide. The iZap will retail for $19.95.

iPhone 3G — What’s it gonna cost you?

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

It’s just a few days until we get our hands on the new 3G iPhone and now we have some idea of the pricing from AT&T.

Just how much will AT&T gouge their customers already under contract but who are not eligible for an upgrade yet? On their website, AT&T reveals that customers not eligible for an upgrade will have to pay $399 for an 8GB iPhone 3G and $499 for the 16GB version. (Also, AT&T has announced that they will offer no-contract-required iPhones in the future at $599 and $699 price points.)

And if you are going to go stand in line, keep in mind that Apple is limiting sales of the iphone, just like last time, however, they will let you purchase up to two, rather than the one per person limit from AT&T. Strange, but maybe Apple is figuring you might pick up some other Apple goodies while you’re hanging out in line?
